Do it once again, please. One last time.
Here are steps for event editing:
 
1. Open your CP-Manage Events - Find that event end open for editing.
Copy url you see at browser address bar.

as you see 1960 is member's id and 82 is event's id.
 
All you need is to place that link at front end page, and display it only for admins.
 
2. Open your front end tpl file, in our case it's events_details.tpl and add your link replacing actual numbers with template variables: {member_id} and {event_id}
 

I also added target="_blank" attribute to link, so link will be open in new browser's tab/window.
It's good practice to place it to actions list, right under Join event link. Don't forget to put <li>yourlink</li> so it looks better in actions list.
 
This way you can add links to edit member profile, picture description etc. You can share your links in this post's comments. Though remember, that links syntax can be changed from version to version. View Comments & Reply...

That is so weird guys from vldpersonals.com don't send email newsletters their customers (or at least I don't get any).
I wouldn't mind if they send it once in a while, especially when such significant occasion occurs - new vldp 2.6 is out.

There is actually another reason that moved me to writing this email:

they give away 30% discount for Unlimited plan, which is basically means you, as existing license owner can upgrade your commercial license to unlim for cost of less than 3 extra licenses (anyway you were going to buy more licenses some day, weren't you).
 
All you need is to login at vld site, go to your clients area, click on your license and list available addons:
Upgrade to unlimited plan.
Regular price is around $1000, but your current license cost subtracted from invoice, so it's ~$800 but after you put discount code (UNLIM2011) final price is $560! Same way you can upgrade your personal license for only $279 to Unlimited personal. (Not sure though, why would you need lots of non-commercial websites).

Why would you want to buy Unlimited license.
 
- It gives you ability to run vldpersonals on as many sites as you wish.
That means if you schedule launching one new project every month, by the end of the year 2011 you have 12 projects!
Ok, lets face the truth most of them will suck but if only one of the five will be successful you have 2 more good websites bringing you profit.
 
Or if you spent thousand(s) bucks for custom developments (from Ramil at HelpDesk) or from radioact at vldCrowd ;) and realize your website is very close to perfection - replicate it, clone it.
Buy dozen domains for any niche you can think of. Copy/paste your existing site to new domain directory, export/import existing db to new site's db change config.php to point to your new domain, database, but leave your license key unchanged. Voila! In just 15 minutes (and 24hours for fresh domain name propagation) you have one new project, new baby.
 
Attaching new domain/soft to existing database wouldn't be a problem as well and only a little bit harder than cloning existing project, so reserve extra 15 minutes for this process. Some people like idea of creating 30 dating websites working with one member database.
 
I myself see huge perspective in split testing, launching new projects, closing old losers and carrying about promising projects.
That's hardly achievable if every time you launching you think about money you have to invest buying new license, etc.
Pay once and forget about this point forever.
Many of us collected some money for Christmas gift for ourselves but haven't decided yet will it be new iPad or new Unlimited license.

This problem was reported few times at vldpersonals.com forum.
It was because uploadify.swf file was compiled only with Base Latin characters.
But since few last versions uploadify.com also includes uploadify.allglyphs.swf file in archive.
 
So just go to their site: http://www.uploadify.com/download/
Download one of the latest versions (tested with 2.1.4).
Unpack zip file and take uploadify.allglyphs.swf file, go to your vldP installation,
/media/utils/ and replace uploader.swf file with above mentioned file by naming it uploader.swf
