What do you consider as mobile template?

Need your opinion on this subject.
I've been asked some time ago about the mobile template for vldPersonals.
 
I'm just not sure what do you think this could be.
 
Most modern phones could open normal sites without any problems.
Yes, there is a problem with screen resolution, but there are so many resolutions out there.
 
Make a template for iPhone... hmm
Don't see any point. How many of your users use iPhone?
 
So, what do you think about it?
Am I missing anyhing here or I am not)

i agree with idealists, as that was what i also meant.
1 mobile template wich is not very heavy to load.
minimal graphics, maximum functionality
 
hope you can make something like that soon.

Hi mate, sorry for my late reply!!
I think something like mobile.skadate.com is good too.
Don't need to make a mobile version of each template you have, just 1 mobile template with basic functionality.
Register/login, modify profile, upload photo, change profile photo, search profiles, view profiles, view recent profile visitors, view friend's latest activities, send mail, read mail, and anything else obvious that I have left out.
I'm happy to be beta tester :D

Interesting. I created an iPhone template for my website a while back. It detects mobile users and redirects them. However, it still give the user an option to redirect to the full site if they choose.
 
I personally like mobile versions of the site if they are not too limiting. If you are interested and have an iPhone, I can set up a stock vld site with the iPhone version installed for you to check out.

How many of your users use iPhone ? I would say 15% and now they can not register on vldpersonals, Security number is not displayed.
 
A light simple Mobile template version would be welcome, for sure.

So you think gifts, audio, video, events should be deprecated.
 
We could use only photos, messages, search.

for me a moblie version would be a very welcome addition.
it would be a stripped out version of the site with basic functions like read/post messages, search members, edit your profile.... just a clean design that loads fine on mobile phones.
 
iphone is not much used on my userbase i gues 1-5% uses/has a iphone.
 
mayby you can check this : mobile.skadate.com this is a good example of what i mean.
