I'm coming to a difficult point, and I know it won't make me popular. But I really think VLD should think their system over. I'm posting it here, because I know critics on the VLD forum is not really welcome.
I'm hoping to have an open debate.
 
Let's start...
 
I was looking into some other systems 8-] oops ;-) from fellow site owners and found out the Ska Dating really has some features we should think about.
 
I'm not really found of the ska dating frontside interface, but I do think they have some nice features.

Now, I'm not promoting Ska date, because VLD is much more flexible if you want to make a special site for your own. And I do know some features are possible to be programmed in the VLD templates. So I wouldn't change.
But I really think they have a much more powerfull admin system and ways to catch and hold on their members.
 
It's only 100$ more then VLD, so I think VLD should consider some ideas (or create a higher level version).
 
You can't stay behind in this competition of dating scripts.
That's my opinion.

Sure... skadate has some great features that VLD doesn`t have yet. But from my experience with 5 different dating software (websites) Vld has provided the best so far with practically no bugs. I can tell you with complete honesty that Vld has provided the best post sale service. Without a doubt! They`ve addressed every concern I`ve had in a timely manner. When I ask for upgrades they get the job done quickly.
So for me skadate and other software may have some features that Vld doesn`t, but Vld is continually updating thier software and you`ll find that they will have everything soon enough.
After spending $1000`s of dollars on other dating software I would recommend that we stick with Vld. It`s the best buy for your money.

Yeah, VLD is missing some basic features. I had to hire programmer to make all sorts of modifications like classifieds, video albums with passwords, send pictures with PM, add option for couples so both persons can put their info (otherwise it's quite useless), then there was problem with php sessions since i have cluster of servers so of course as soon as load balancer transfer user to other server user is logged out so we had to make mod to write sessions to mysql, then conversion of videos with no option to use on load balancer or to configure, problem with no invite only registration and all bunch of features... And of course since there is no detailed change log I cannot update script to newer version since it will completely screw my database and all mods. Not to say no one have no idea what upgrade script is doing to database since it's compiled... So after thousands $$ spend on all mods I have no way to make any updates, nor corrections (as there is no detailed change log so you can make manual corrections) so I just gave up on updates... DMOZ Handshakes is great script. And has all features and more. If I only found it before i got stuck with VLD. Ah well, I'm stuck with vld for now.

I'm not promoting Ska! I'm only telling we should look at the features wich are from a very smart point of view !

My advice is I am sure you can mod VLD to make it almost anything you want. I have however before going with vld have tested and contacted many dating software companies, I think all of them.. LOL For them to mod the their site the way I wanted it would have cost me at least 3 thousand dollars. At least I can say,vld themselfs are not that bad with their custom mods. they are resonable. even though I dont like their prices either they are way lower on custom mods than the other companies I have contacted even skadate.
Once my VLD site is finished I can promise on userablity, look and ease of use that my vld site will smoke every other software out of the water. it has just taken many months of planning and countless hours of work, but atleast it is the way I want it! With vld you can make and do just about anything you want. I also agree with one of the posts I don't see nothing impressive in skadate either.

You won't be able to tell anything really reasonable untill you purchase it.
Demo looks good description looks good, but when you use it it is 100% diferent.
 
Besides there are millions of things which you don't think about.
When you begin to use any script you begin to sorry that you can't find those little things.
 
I can't tell anything about skadate as I don't have one)

You may have to be more detailed of the feature on vldForum. I doubt if vlad will click the link to research the topic.
 
You know..not sure if anyone else owned skadate, but it is a mess. Not only is the script bad, but so is the support. I would caution anyone thinking of buying that software even if was only $100. Whats the use of saying a script has a feature if it doesn't work.
 
But you don't have to take my word for it, if you search the net you will find tons of complaints.
