I’m not going to talk about technique but get a little philosophical. Besides, I can’t give away all my marketing secrets :).
 
Most webmasters look for a way to make money in large sums. Unless you have a huge marketing campaign or have the backing of some very rich websites, it is tough to make money in large sums from only one or two sources. Instead, you need to go after the small change.
 
Small change plus quantity can lead to a pretty good payday. For example if you made $1 as the result of a video on youtube, it may seem too little for your efforts. But if you made $1 from youtube, $1 because of a link on vldPersonals, $1 from an article your wrote, $1 because of an RSS link on Facebook, $1 from a twitter tweat, $1 from bookmarks, $1 from blog comments, etc, it can add up. Of course as time goes on and your are persistent, those same $1 revenue sources turn in to $2, than $3, etc.
 
So every time I read a question on vldForum on how to make money or how to get more traffic, I think the best approach is to take it $1 dollar or one person at a time, but make sure your site is networked as much as possible to make those one dollars and one person add up. Don't hide your site or you links. You need to let people find you wherever they may looking, otherwise, you my as well create your site for your own viewing. Links are key to networking your site.
